ATTORNEY PROFILE

The founding attorney, Ms. Rinku Ray, focuses on the practice of immigration and nationality law. With over thirteen years of experience, she counsels companies and individuals regarding strategies for securing temporary and permanent employment authorization and other legalization for foreign nationals. Ms. Ray represents companies of all sizes -- from start-ups to established multi-national corporations -- in a wide range of industries regarding their immigration needs. Present and past clients include high tech companies, healthcare providers and colleges and universities.

Ms. Ray regularly prepares H-1B petitions for temporary professional workers, L-1 petitions for intracompany transferees, and related labor certification based permanent residence applications. She also represents employers and foreign nationals in filing temporary and permanent visa petitions for multi-national executives and managers, "aliens of extraordinary ability" and "outstanding researchers" in a variety of different industries and positions, including the sciences and the performing arts. She has been particularly successful in representing performing artists seeking to work or tour in the U.S.

Prior to forming the Law Office of Rinku Ray,  Ms. Ray practiced immigration and nationality law at two of Boston's most prominent law firms. Most recently, Ms. Ray served as Counsel in the Immigration Section of Mintz Levin Cohn Ferris Glovsky & Popeo, PC. Prior to that, Ms. Ray was an attorney in the Immigration Practice Group at Foley Hoag, LLP for close to five years. Prior to working at Foley Hoag, Ms. Ray served as the head of the Immigration Department at Rubin, Kaplan & Associates, an AV rated law firm in New Jersey.

Ms. Ray is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and Rutgers University School of Law, and is a native speaker of Bengali. She is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey.

She has co-authored a chapter in Business Immigration Law: Strategies for Employing Foreign Nationals titled "Specialty Occupation Professionals". Ms. Ray is a member of the American Immigration Lawyer's Association ("AILA"), and former facilitator of AILA's Indian Sub-continent Interest Group.
